Welcome to Saccade.com<\/p>\n

What?<\/h3>\n

Online since mid-2003 or so, Saccade.com is the repository for projects<\/a> (mostly electronics) I’ve developed over the years. \u00a0During the 2000’s, many of these were contest entries that won<\/a> several<\/a> prizes<\/a>. \u00a0I’ve also published some old computer graphics papers<\/a> here. \u00a0I’ve recently started 3D modelling and printing projects and will publish those here as well.<\/p>\n

In 2016, I’m re-launching it in blog format, although the original content is still around as static pages. Some material is also cross-posted to places like Medium and Hackaday.io (I maintain my own copies here in case those sites begin\u00a0Their Incredible Journey<\/em><\/a> someday.) \u00a0If you\u00a0really<\/em> want to see the old version of the site, it’s here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Who?<\/h3>\n

By day I’m a senior software developer. \u00a0I’m also on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sa-what?<\/em><\/h3>\n

A\u00a0saccade<\/a><\/em> refers to the rapid, jerking movement your eye makes when reading or scanning the horizon. \u00a0It’s pronounced sa-KAHD. \u00a0I was hacking on panorama software around the time I acquired the domain, and found the concept fascinating.<\/p>\n\n\n

I use the burr puzzle<\/a> as an avatar on various social media platforms. I switched over to this everywhere after reading Kashmir Hill’s Your Face Belongs to Us<\/a><\/em>.
